Weekending May 26th.

Tuesday 21st May

Thanks to Keith Wright for today’s report.

23 golfers went out to play the Roll Up Stableford in dry conditions with a little wind. The top scores were 36 – this was shared by 4 golfers, split between divisions 0ne and two.

There was confusion on what we were playing today – some thought it was a Bogey. The Events Diary was plain to read the Roll Up Stableford.

2nd place a.c.b. came Bill Murray with 36 points.

Thursday 23rd May

Not a good turn out today, just 9 members arrived for the 3 clubs and a putter, 2 from 3 stableford. This gave us just 3 teams.

After the torrential rain had fallen over Monday, the day dawned overcast but brightened towards the end of the round. Competition was close as everyone got used to only using three clubs and a putter! Scoring 2 from 3 usually leads to a winner in the 80’s but the wind played havoc and the 4 clubs proved difficult.

Club selection was not too good, judging by the individual scores, with only two players breaking 30 points.  Melvin Baker and Graham Purslow.

The results follow ……

Winning team were

Tom Byrne, Bill Collins and Nick Lewis with 66 points.

R/U Bill Murray, Melvin Baker and John Hastings with                63 points a.c.b.

3rd were Graham Purslow, Malcolm Hird and Keith Wright             with 63 points a.c.b.

2’s Competition

There were no 2’s today.

Best Front 9 with 19 points was Graham Purslow.

Best Back 9 with 17 points was Melvin Baker with 17 points.
