Weekending 16th June

Tuesday 11th June

June Monthly Medal, with a turnout of 25 members, which produced some very good scoring from the White Tees, with the top three breaking par. It could have been better for a number of players who had their card spoiled by just one hole. The odd 7, 8 or 9 causing the pain.
The first hole is not drying out despite the fair weather – the golf balls at the bottom are ensuring it stays full!!!
For a change the weather was dry, all that is needed now is a little less wind and a bit more sunshine.
A fine round of gross 74 by Ian Ingram earning him the 10 points on the Order of Merit as well as winning Division 1. Click here to view the latest Order of Merit table.
Today’s results.
Division 1

1st place and 10 points on the Order of Merit Ian Ingram,           with a Gross score of 74 and Net 64.

2nd place went to John Crossley with a Gross 86 and a Net 68.
3rd came Bill Murray with a Gross 88 and a Net 72.

Division 2

1st place came Nick Lewis with a Gross 92 and a Net 68.

2nd place went to Steve Moss with a Gross 89 and a Net 69.
3rd came Melvin Baker with a gross 102 and a Net 71.

2’s Competition

We had two 2’s scored today both on the 6th hole, they were achieved by Ian Ingram and Steve Moss.

A reminder from Keith …… In a medal competition, you cannot enter a NR on any hole. A score is required on every hole. Fortunately, the “miscreant” didn’t affect the leaderboard or OOM!

Thursday 13th June

Ladies June Stableford results;

Jenny Wilson came out in the top spot today with 15 points a.c.b.

She was followed by Liz Kunen on 15 points a.c.b.

The Senior Men’s Competition today was the “complicated”, 1 to count on the par 5’s, 2 to count on the par 4’s and 3 to count on the par 3’s. 17 seniors turned out for a classic English June day, cold and windy but thankfully no rain.

The winning group was Messrs Boyce, Lambert and Moss on 190 points- OH NO – that’s what happens when you enter the Stableford points instead of the scores. More work for Keith Wright to unscramble and find the ACTUAL was 90 points, still very good but not miraculous!! Penalties should have but did not apply.

Andrew Boyce, Steve Moss and Don Lambert with a score                 of 90 points.

Runners up were ……

The Ghost (Dougie Morton), Charlie Laverty and John Hastings with 88 points.

Best Front 9 with a huge 26 points was Melvin Baker.

Best Back 9 – Malcolm Mann. Charlie Laverty and Bill Murray all scored 19 points; Malcolm took the prize on count back.

2′ s Competition                                                                                          2’s scored today by Bill Collins and Don Lambert, both on the 16th hole.
