Weekending 14th April

Tuesday 9th April

Here is the draw for the Monthly Medal, please note that if the course is shortened again or bunkers GUR, the competition will not be considered as a qualifier for handicap adjustment.

Tuesday 9th April

Having received the news that the full course would be open for today’s Monthly Medal late yesterday, we slept with all figures crossed that rain would hold off overnight so we could complete the competition today.
The day started off in rain but soon the sun came out to play!! At halfway, the skies blackened, and we had 2 holes of rain with the start of the wind. By the end, we were lucky if we could stand on the tee. Trolleys were littered all around too.
Some people had the correct handicap to the new (1/4/24) WHS rules – but some people were using their old handicaps. Bill and Keith know who they are!!! Please improve!!!!
Some people scored it as a Stableford, instead of a Medal. However, no blobs – everyone put their full gross score, so the computer was able to do its job – well done (from Bill and Keith!!!!”).

Thursday 11th April

“Spring has sprung”, a fine day for golf although a little chilly initially but warmed up as the morning went on. All 18 holes were open so the 18 players who turned out for the days roll up could complete the Double Yellow Peril. There was a little confusion on how the scoring worked, but this was cleared up by Sharon.

Scoring on the whole was very mediocre, apart from one very bright light ……                                                                           Steve Moss who returned the best round of the day with a net 65.

Today’s results: –

The top two teams finished well ahead of the rest of the field,

The winning team with a fine 110 points was:

Don Lambert, Steve Moss and Derrick Bell.

They were followed home by: –

Bill Collins, Tom Byrne and Andrew Boyce who scored 108 points.
